This Shelby Purrs Like a ….Wait, Yes, a Cat >^_^<

Shelby is pet of the week at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society. She’s a 4 year old, 7 pound, female, Domestic Shorthair cat with a Tabby coat.

Shelby was transferred from another local shelter through the Friends of County Animal Shelters (FOCAS) program. When she arrived, she kept to herself. Shelby didn’t approach the care providers, volunteers, or other cats. After she settled in it was obvious that Shelby really does love getting human attention. She’s not a cat that will approach people asking them to pet her, but she’s perfectly happy when someone comes to give her special attention and snuggle time.

There are lots of advantages to adopting an adult cat. You don’t need to “kitten proof” your home. They’re more mellow than kittens. And they often do better with children.
