Grape is pet of the week at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society. He’s a 9 week old, 4 pound, Chihuahua mix puppy.

When Grape and his litter arrived at Rancho Coastal Humane Society they were named after kinds of fruit. His siblings include “Apple” and “Peach.” Two month old puppies don’t know how to walk on a leash, they don’t know the meaning of “sit” or “stay.” Their new families will need to teach them what’s appropriate to chew on and where to relieve themselves. A puppy is like a blank canvas, waiting for is family artist to create the dog it will be for the rest of its life. It’s also important to remember that they’ll only be puppies for a short while. After that you’ll have a dog for many years.

Grape was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society from another shelter through the FOCAS program
